High blood pressure, which is linked to heart attack, metabolic syndrome and stroke, can benefit from the use of CBD. Studies have found that CBD could be a natural and effective treatment for high blood pressure, which would reduce the likelihood of a person suffering from a stroke or heart attack (see: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5470879/)

The conclusions drawn from the study state: “Our data show that a single dose of CBD reduces resting blood pressure and the blood pressure response to stress, particularly cold stress, and especially in the post-test periods. This may reflect the anxiolytic and analgesic effects of CBD, as well as any potential direct cardiovascular effects. CBD also affected cardiac parameters but without affecting cardiac output. Giving the increasing use of CBD as a medicinal product, these hemodynamic changes should be considered for people taking CBD. Further research is also required to establish whether CBD has any role in the treatment of cardiovascular disorders such as a hypertension.”

As a result, researchers have suggested that the stress- and anxiety-reducing properties of CBD are responsible for its ability to help lower blood pressure. Another study found that CBD reduces inflammation and cell death associated with heart disease due to its powerful antioxidant and stress-reducing properties.
